Create a simple Fire Area

All you need is 4 sticks!

What You Will Need

Part 1 of simple fire lighting: Creating a spark with a flin

How to create a small spark using flint and steel.

Part 2 lighting cotton wool with a spark

Once you have mastered getting a spark with a flint and steel you can move on to part 2 of dropping the ember created onto a piece of cotton wool which will in turn light.

Part 3 Using a fire extender - dry Silver Birch

This is the 3rd in a series of firelighting videos for parents and  their children who would like to learn basic fire lighting skills using a flint and steel.


Part 4 - Maintaining a Fire

This is the final part of a 4 part series of videos and accompanying blogs to help adults support children in building fire lighting skills.
